On July 23rd, approximately 1400 people assembled at City Hall Plaza to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Dsability Act, as well as to speak out as civil rights and services for people with disabilities face unprecedented challenges.
After several speakers and the raising of the Disability Rights Flag, everyone marched and rolled down Tremont Street and reassembled at the Embrace on Boston Common.
At the Embrace, we heard speeches and chants and sang along to We Shall Overcome.
It was an overwhelming event with feelings of both pride and the need to act.
Other groups have reported on the rally and march.
